I was a biology professor and retired mayor who took up fishing in 2021 as political rehabilitation therapy. I retired from the university (FIU) in 2024 and have been working on my fly fishing game. I fish mostly in the greater Everglades ecosystem, but anywhere I travel as well. Upon his retirement, Jimmy Carter said :“I think I’m going to learn to be a really good fly-fisherman.” I’m still a far better birder than a fly-fisherman, but I enjoy the challenge of learning something new. In the meanwhile, this blog is an outlet for my musings and photos of nature in general, fish in particular, and whatever else comes to mind.
